My name is Marc L'hirondelle. I was born in Edmonton, Alberta, and lived in Slave Lake, Alberta, for 25 years before taking a transfer to Bonnyville with Ultraline Services Corporation in2005. This company is now owned by Halliburton Energy Services. I have been in the wireline industry for 10 years, starting with Plains Perforating and eventually moving on to Ultraline and currently Halliburton. I have worked my way from a wireline driver to my current position as Product Service Line Manager for the Bonnyville, AB, station for Wireline and Perforating!
I finished high school in 1997 in Slave Lake, AB, and went to work directly in the oil patch. I started with surveying and then on to wireline and have been here since! My whole family is from Slave Lake as I am of Métis descent. I am currently active with the Métis Association of Alberta. I try to get out to all the fundraisers and functions that they put on and I am also an active Métis Harvester that hunts to put food on the table for my family. I give the Métis association my full support and I also encourage Métis and aboriginal people to come and work for Halliburton as they are a great company to work for along with lending a hand anywhere they can!
