Alison Heavenfire is a Junior Land Analyst in Land Administration. Oil Sands.
She is part of the Tsuu T'ina Nation west of Calgary. Historically, the Tsuu T'ina descend from the Dene-speaking peoples of the northern boreal forests. Alison grew up on the reserve but attended school in Calgary.

“I acquired a lot of skills and valuable experience working in administration for my chief and council on my reserve in economic and business development resources,” Alison says.

In 2007, she graduated from the Aboriginal oil and gas line administration program at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology. After a six-week practicum at Shell, she joined the company and now works with Aboriginal stakeholders, including those in the Fort McMurray area in northern Alberta.

“I feel it’s a way to give back to the Aboriginal community,” she says. “I like the ethics at Shell. The company is very supportive, very welcoming, and I was immediately made to feel I was part of the team.”
