Various applied math courses including differential equations, partial differential equations, mathematical finance and statistics. In addition, I have taken different anthropology and communications classes where I was able to demonstrate prolific and thorough assessment skills, including a research proposal.
Some of the skills I have acquired in your degree program:
Attended a primatology field school in 2011 where I gained valuable experience of being on a team in a foreign environment. From Anthropology, I was able to learn more about people both biologically and physically. My math skills afford me a unique approach in problem solving.
Leadership or volunteer activities:
I am a senior ambassador for the Native Ambassador Post Secondary Initiative where I facilitate personal, team and community leadership training, as well as, motivational presentations to aboriginal youth across western Canada. With N.A.P.I., I am also responsible for entering data and analyzing evaluations for the yearly final report. In addition, I am also VP Finance for the First Nations Student Association, a volunteer tutor for the University of Calgary and a tutor for Metis Calgary Family Services.
Plans for future career:
My career plans are to pursue my interests in a technical area and to enhance my problem solving skills. In the long term, I am hoping to obtain a Masters degree in a science field.
Extracurricular activities that may be of interest:
Dancing, hot yoga, working out with my trainer, movies, cooking/baking, painting, sculpting and other creative art projects.
