Edwards School of Business

Lyle is from the Ochapowace First Nation and began his studies at the Saskatchewan Indian Institute of Technologies. He was the first student to take part in PotashCorp's Aboriginal internship program, and also participated in the Business Co-operative Education Program at Edwards School of Business(ESB). With the program, he found his work-term in Cameco's Corporate Social Responsibility department. He has since been hired by Deloitte &Touche LLP as a summer student and will have the opportunity to work with their Enterprise Risk Management group in Saskatoon.

Lyle has been very involved with extracurricular activities at the ESB. Taking part in Aboriginal Business Student Society projects and campus recreation has been keeping him busy in his spare time. He has also participated in a couple of ace:saskatchewan projects. The projects had him providing entrepreneurial workshops at the White Buffalo Youth Lodge, and taking part in the development of the Stepping Stones manual. The purpose of the manual was to provide First Nations youth with information about urban living.

The advice he would give to incoming students is to put lots of effort into their studies, but also to get involved in the many campus activities that go on. He says with effort, studies become easier and volunteering is a great way to make friends and become part of the college community.
